Ashley: What's your name and part in the band?
Pete: My name is Pete, and I play bass.

Ashley: When did Fall Out Boy get together?
Pete: I'd say about two and a half, almost three years ago.

Ashley: Where did the name Fall Out Boy come from?
Pete: I'd say it's definitely a long story that involves outer space and alligators.

Ashley: How did you guys get noticed by Fueled By Ramen?
Pete: We were sending our demo to like, a lot of different labels, you know, and, uh, I don't think anyone was really listening to it. Like, I think it sat in a lot of mail rooms on the floors, and in bins. John, eventually like, it was like one label listened to it and then a couple labels got interested. John called us up, and I guess, here it is.

Ashley: Why did you title your album 'Take This To Your Grave?'
Pete: Because, uh, certain moments, we were at a stage or whatever and you have to hold on to those I think, like, for your entire life. And I think a lot of people go home and that's what they think about. I don't know. Or what they hate probably, I don't know.

Ashley: If you were to describe your music to somebody that hasn't heard it, what would you say?
Pete: I don't really know. I'd say it’s like softcore. I don't know, it can't quite cut it as hardcore.

Ashley: What performer has had an impact on you?
Pete: I don't know. I'd say, like, earlier bands that I saw a long time ago. Lifetime and uh, I don't know. It depends.

Ashley: What's your favorite city to play in?
Pete: Chicago, without a doubt.

Ashley: Do you have any embarrassing moments that have happened to you?
Pete: On tour, or in general?
Ashley: On tour?
Pete: I, uh, ran and tripped on a monitor when I went onstage to sing with Matchbook Romance. I don't know, I fall down a lot. I've wrapped myself in my cord, and tripped, and I hit the PA. My head hit the PA and I got knocked out while I was on stage; that was pretty embarrassing I guess.

Ashley: What's your favorite thing to do when you’re not on tour?
Pete: I mostly just like to sit home and watch movies.

Ashley: Do you prefer playing a festival like Warped Tour, or smaller clubs?
Pete: Both have their advantages. If you're playing at a club, you're playing only in front of your crowd and it's just complete mayhem usually. You play Warped Tour and you're playing with bands you wouldn't ordinarily get to play with, and you get to see bands you wouldn't ordinarily get to play with. It's a really cool experience, so, they're both cool.

Ashley: What do you think is your biggest accomplishment as a band?
Pete: I'd say being able to do this band full time, like being able to go to different countries, see people and go out and play.

Ashley: What advice would you give to someone starting or playing in a band?
Pete: I would say, be yourself and do your own thing, for sure.

Ashley: Are there any new upcoming bands that you're listening to?
Pete: The Academy, another band called Nightmare Of You, there's so many to chose from.

Ashley: What cd are you listening to right now?
Pete: Right now, I'm listening to Pantera.

Ashley: Is there anything else you want to say?
Pete: Check out our website
FallOutBoyRock.com, and thank you for the interview.
Ashley: Thanks.
